Karukene
Handpan music from the heart
At home both in rhythmical, percussive playing and in soft and quiet tonalities, Karukene explores all nuances of the wonderful instruments known as Handpan, Pantam or Hang. His concerts are not only a musical performance, but a journey through authentic emotions. Karukene has played on many different stages in and around Berlin and has been booked for festivals, hackathons and private events.

In sound journeys, we focus on our inner experience. Music is played slow and soft, to support the inner processes. Playing is more intuitively, resonating with the people and vibe in the room. Additional instruments can be incorporated as well. Sound journeys are a beautiful closing to a yoga, meditation or breathwork session. Close your eyes, breathe and dream away...
Creativity is sparked best by interaction with other people, when ideas flow back and forth. I am grateful to have been invited to several events of co-creation, both with other musicians, visual artists and with a class for contemporary dance. Through shared improvisation and interactive co-creation, amazing dynamics emerge, which go far beyond anything a single person can achieve.
If you have an idea for a co-creation project, don't hesitate to contact me via e-mail.
Having learned from many teachers, now it is time to pass on some of the knowledge to others. Workshops with Karukene focus not only on playing skills and technique, but on actually exploring the instrument in your own way - to express your unique personal relationship with handpans and music.
Beginner workshops (English/German) regularly take place in Berlin and usually take about 2.5 hours. We are small groups, so we can focus on every individual. Contact me both for workshops and individual lessons!Bears symbolize introspection and intuition blended with instinct, awakening the strong force of the unconscious. The strength of the bear spirit is the power to restore harmony and balance – to heal.
Karukene means little bear or bear cub – a bear in transition and growth, learning and exploring the vast land of possibilities in sound, healing, imagining, dreaming.
Playing the handpan has changed my life. I hope it will have a beautiful impact on your life as well.
